In 2017, Sanjay Krishnappa and Chandramouli Vadlamudi, both Master’s degree graduates from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) came to the Volusia Innovation Hub, formerly known as the formerly known as the UCF Business Incubation Program (UCFBIP) to start a company because they didn’t want to work for anyone else and Aerosapien Technologies was born.
Aerosapien Technologies was founded with a bold vision – to redefine cargo transportation through electric aviation. What began as an ambitious aerospace engineering company evolved into a rapidly growing innovator developing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft designed for cargo logistics and hard-to-reach locations.
The company focused on solving real-world transportation challenges by creating aircraft that could operate from existing helipads and airports while reducing operational costs and environmental impact. Building a deep multidisciplinary engineering team, Aerosapien invested heavily in research, advanced propulsion systems, and structural efficiency to create scalable aviation solutions.
As the company grew, it established its headquarters in Holly Hill, Florida, becoming part of the region’s growing innovation ecosystem. Aerosapien’s story is one of persistence, technical innovation, and long-term vision. Through strategic partnerships, product development, and a commitment to solving global logistics challenges, the company has positioned itself as a rising leader in the future of electric cargo aviation.
In 2023, Aerosapien moved from the Hub into two buildings totaling 30,000 square feet in Holly Hill and currently employ 50 engineers.
